Career Exploration

Discover how professional UAS teams think, decide, and work.

Best for students with little or no prior drone experience.

The UAS Mission Lab places students inside a realistic commercial mission. They interpret a client need, identify missing information and risk, recommend controls, inspect a professional aircraft system, make a defensible operational decision, and connect the work to real careers.

Career Pathway | Pilot Collaboration

Turn Part 107 knowledge into evidence of work-ready capability.

Best for students and adult learners already studying drones, preparing for or holding Part 107, or beginning to support real missions.

Participants work through an authentic mission lifecycle, create professional operational documentation, evaluate a useful result, and translate the experience into portfolio and résumé evidence.

Student Evidence

Mission documents, risk controls, logs, QA/QC notes, closeout records, a portfolio case study, and a résumé-ready project story.

Pathway pilots are co-designed with the host. Duration, mission scope, live-capture options, and external participation remain flexible.

Career Exploration Track

Real operational workflow — not a toy demo.

Students join an operations team and work through a realistic commercial scenario. They interpret a client need, find missing information, manage risk, inspect an aircraft system, and defend a recommendation.

Client Need + Mission Planning

Students identify the decision the client needs to make, define the real mission objective, and locate important missing information.

Risk + Operational Judgment

Students identify hazards, evaluate risk, recommend practical controls, and choose Go, Conditions, Replan, or No-Go.

Aircraft Systems Walkaround

Students examine how the aircraft, payload, batteries, controller, software, crew, and procedures operate as one system.

Decision Debrief + Next Step

Students compare recommendations, explain their reasoning, explore the careers behind the mission, and choose a realistic next step.

Live flight is not the load-bearing feature. The core Career Exploration experience works in a classroom, gym, restricted-airspace environment, or poor weather.

CareerVector complements educators and certified professionals — it never replaces them.

CareerVector is an educational, instructor-led program. It is not Part 107 test preparation, a flight-training course, a recreational flying lesson, a guaranteed live flight, or a promise of employment or internship placement. Any flight activity occurs only under certified remote-pilot supervision and when site permission, airspace, weather, privacy, equipment, and school requirements align.

Any flight activity occurs only under certified remote-pilot supervision, with school staff present. No student operates an aircraft without direct oversight.
